The first building on campus designed in neo-Gothic architecture with native limestone (early Hokie Stone). Demolished 1966 to make way for the current McBryde Hall (1971).

Fun facts

  • Sculptures from the original facade were saved and are displayed along the walkway on the west end of the current McBryde Hall.
  • First McBryde was among the earliest campus buildings to use Hokie Stone, setting the architectural standard for VT.
