VT's original football stadium, named for Lt. Col. Clarence P. "Sally" Miles (class of 1901). Last game played November 7, 1964. The site became known as "the Prairie" for decades before the Prairie Quad residence halls were built in the 1990s.

  • Miles Stadium seated only 17,000 at peak capacity -- a fraction of Lane Stadium's 65,000+.
  • The stadium started at just 6,000 seats and was expanded several times before being replaced.

Miles Stadium was VT football's home from 1926 to 1964. Named for Lt. Col. Clarence P. "Sally" Miles (class of 1901), it started at 6,000 seats and grew to 17,000 before being replaced by Lane Stadium in 1965.
