Privacy & data

Last updated June 15, 2026

Pokemon Explorer is a free fan tool. It is built to work without an account and to keep your data on your own device by default. This page explains what is stored, where it lives, and what leaves your device.

What stays on your device

Your collection, wishlist, Pokedex progress, saved teams, and daily challenge history are stored locally in your browser (localStorage). If you never sign in, this data never leaves your device. Clearing your browser storage removes it.

If you sign in

Signing in is optional and only exists so your collection can sync across your own devices. When you sign in, your collection data is stored in our database (Supabase) and tied to a server-side account id. Your data is scoped to your account and is not shared with other users.

Analytics

We record anonymous product events to understand how the tool is used (for example: an import was started, a card was added, the binder was viewed). These events carry counts and simple labels only. They are keyed on a server-side identifier, never on your email address, and we do not attach raw personal information to them. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Share links

When you create a share link for a collection, the card identifiers are encoded directly into the link itself. There is no server-side token and no account information in the link. Anyone you give the link to can view that collection, so only share it with people you trust.

Third-party data

Card images and set data come from public Pokemon TCG sources, and sprite art is proxied from public PokeAPI image data. This tool is an unofficial fan project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nintendo, Creatures, Game Freak, or The Pokemon Company.
