Bright, indirect
Bright light, including direct sun, suits it best. A south or west window is ideal. It tolerates less but grows very slowly in low light.
Every 2–4 weeks, much less in winter. When in doubt, wait. It tolerates drought far better than wet feet.
Gritty, fast-draining cactus or succulent mix.
A pot with a drainage hole; terracotta is ideal for drying out the soil.
Rarely, every 3–5 years. A snug pot keeps it compact. Repot in spring.
Grown from seed, or by separating offsets (pups) that occasionally form at the base.
Non-toxic to cats and dogs.
