Launching FLUXX: An AI-Powered Menopause Platform
"Kate took an overwhelming, high-emotion space and made it navigable. We had clarity on what to build, why it mattered, and how to launch without losing user trust." - FLUXX Founder
Project Overview
The vision Build a product that gives women clear, personalized guidance through perimenopause and menopause - rooted in clinical accuracy and user empathy.
The reality When I joined, FLUXX had deep research and a strong mission, but no delivery framework, roadmap, or sequencing to get from idea to launch. Multiple product directions competed for attention.
The work
- Defined three parallel bets: phase-aware quiz engine, clinician enablement tools, and monetization experiments.
- Introduced Linear + Notion for delivery and documentation, plus regular sync-ups for fast, async decision-making.
- Designed prompt-based scoring logic for 150+ symptoms, validated with clinicians for real-world safety and clarity.
- Built trauma-aware, mobile-first UX that reduced friction for first-time users and increased re-entry through intent-based CTAs.
The result
The FLUXX Platform now delivers phase-specific treatment prompts, clinician discussion guides, and has a clear path for monetization.
Project Goals
How might we create a phase-aware, trustworthy digital companion that empowers women to make informed treatment decisions?
Success looked like:
- Translating symptom complexity into plain-language, actionable recommendations
- Designing re-engagement logic to sustain trust and return visits
- Proving a monetizable, scalable product in a high-sensitivity health category
- Giving the cross-functional team a repeatable way to plan and decide
Challenges and Solutions
Challenge: High-sensitivity health context Menopause is personal, variable, and often mishandled in digital health. Solution: Created trauma-aware language systems, validated every recommendation with clinicians, and linked outputs to “what to ask your doctor” prompts.
Challenge: Risk of scope creep Initial vision included too many concurrent features. Solution: Sequenced delivery around three bets with clear now/next/later priorities, enabling speed without loss of quality.
Challenge: AI trust and explainability Users and clinicians needed to see how outputs were generated. Solution: Built transparent scoring chains with traceable logic in the CMS, allowing advisors to audit recommendations.
Challenge: Distributed, multi-disciplinary team Clinicians, engineers, designers, and advisors needed a shared system. Solution: Implemented Linear + Notion for visibility, ritual calendar for alignment, and advisor reviews for decision flow.
Outcome & Impact
The launch proved FLUXX could combine clinical rigor, AI scalability, and user empathy without compromise.
Today, FLUXX Health:
- Guides women through 150+ symptoms with personalized, phase-based scoring
- Gives clinicians a structured, audit-ready content framework
- Retains users through behavior-driven re-engagement flows
- Operates on systems that support continued roadmap delivery
This was about building a trustworthy foundation for a new category of menopause care.
